Fron Farm Fishery, Bontnewydd is a family-run Fishery, and Campsite, in spectacular West Wales countryside a 20-minute drive from the Ceredigion coast.
As you might have guessed from the name, is ideal for anglers: its bodies of water range from an acre in size up to two and a half, and have naturally spring-fed lakes replenished regularly with rainbow, blue and native brown trout. Also on the grounds are two other coarse lakes filled with smaller fish as well as carp (including that elusive 30 + pounder…).
This peaceful and family-friendly Fishery first-rate spot for getting up close with other animals as well – it’s in a wildlife haven surrounded by hedgerows, with red kites often flying overhead and dragonflies skimming over the ponds. There’s ample room all around for impromptu games of cricket, and lots of trails in the lush local countryside mean even more green space to explore whether on walks or cycle rides.
The Campsite has a shower block (heated to guard against chilly toes), and washing-up facilities too. The local pub is in the village of Bronant, about a five-minute drive away.
Please note that the ground here is a uneven and slopes gently in places, so you will not have a completely flat pitch..
